If you receive the error message 'You are trying to execute too many copies of HandiTax. Authorise users 1' when opening HandiTax this may be due to HandiTax having closed correctly. The program therefore shows that a user has HandiTax open.
Note: the number of licenses you are subscribed to does restrict the number of users who can log in concurrently.
Follow the steps below:
Check the bottom task bar of your computer to see if HandiTax has been minimized, if so, close the program.
Hold the Control and Alt tabs down concurrently, If the icon for HandiTax appears close from this screen.
Hold the Control, Alt, and Delete tabs down at the same time. Click on Task Manager and if HandiTax (HTxx) appears end the program.
If the license message continues to appear, you can then download a new index file.
Navigate to the HSoft folder.
Rename the hs23.ind file to hs23.ind_Today'sDate.
Upon opening HandiTax 2023 you will be prompted to download a new index file.
Enter your Client Ref and 5-digit ID number to download.
