Remove the affected file
You can remove the affected file causing ELS lodgment issues
Close HandiTax 20XX (where XX is the prior year).
Go to File Explorer and navigate to the HSoft\ELS folder.
Locate the x0_ClientCode.XXe file and rename or remove this file.
Close and re-open HandiTax 20XX.
Retry the lodgment.
If the issue persists, see below for further steps:
Log in to HandiTax iin the year you are attempting to create the ELS file.
Go to Help, About to establish the correct location of the HSoft folder.
Get all users to exit all HandiTax programs.
Using File Explorer, navigate to this HSoft folder.
Find the ELS folder and rename it to ELS<Today's date>.
Create a new ELS folder in the same location.
Open the prior year HandiTax.
From the Lodgment menu, click Create ELS, and then Cancel.
Open the current year HandiTax program and lodge your Prior Year ELS via SBR.
Note: The prior year HandiTax program and the current year HandiTax program will need to be in the same HSoft folder.
