In HandiTax, when you attempt to transmit prior year ELS tax returns in the current SBR year, you may receive the Error: 'There are no prior year files available for lodgment via SBR channel'. Please run through the following steps to resolve.

Lodging ELS returns 2014 and prior
For ELS files to be created and able to be lodged, both the current and prior year of HandiTax must be run from the same HSoft folder.
Log into the current year HandiTax and go to Help, About, and make a note of the location.
2. Open the prior year's HandiTax containing the return you wish to lodge and ensure the location shown in the Help, About window is the same.
Note: If the location is not the same in both years, please raise a new case with support online and reference the title of this article.
3. If the locations match, ensure the prior year return, in the Client's Tax Form Details window. is set to Lodge by ELS.
4. Select the return, then the Errors button to ensure the prior year return is error-free.
5. SQL ONLY: In the current HandiTax year, go to Options, ELS Communications. Check the ELS Folder path is pointing to the correct HSoft\ELS folder. (per Step 1). This path needs to be the same in all years. If using HandiSoft Online, this will be Z:\ELS.
If the error still persists, please proceed below.
6. Open File Explorer and navigate to your HSoft\ELS folder.
7. Open the RX and TX folders then remove any files within them.
8. Attempt a lodgment to see if the error is generated.
9. If the error still generates, navigate to the HSoft folder and rename the \ELS folder to \ELS.OLD.
10. Create a new folder within the \HSoft folder called ELS. Repeat the lodgment process and see if the error is generated.
11. If this does not resolve the error, your anti-virus program could prohibit the creation of ELS files. Please temporarily disable your anti-virus and attempt the lodgment process again.
12. If, when your anti-virus is disabled, the lodgment is successful, you will need to exclude the HSoft folder the anti-virus real-time scanning.
