HandiTax - Error Error zipping files for lodgment\retrieval' in HandiTax SQL

To resolve this 'Error zipping files for lodgment\retrieval' please check the following:

  1. Check the Clients Tax Form Details window has ‘Lodge By ELS’ selected.

2. Go to the Options menu and select ELS Communications. Ensure the ‘ELS Folder’ shown here is the same as shown in the current year HandiTax. This path needs to be the same in all years.

Note: The 'ELS Folder' field is only available in the SQL version of HandiTax.

You will need to type in a mapped drive or a local drive. This is a global setting and must be relevant for all users that lodge.
If you have migrated to HandiSoft Online and it's still showing the old folder path, you can clear the path or change it to reflect Z:\ELS to see if this will rectify the error.

Standardized Network mapping is encouraged, even if on an RDS \Terminal server. The path MUST start with a letter.

When you enter in the path, the browse button may not work as required. It converts it to a UNC which we don’t want. Users may need to type the path in this location. For example T:\Hsoft\ELS

  • Open a File Explorer and check that the ELS folder exists in the location that was set in the ELS Communications window.

  • If this folder does not exist, you can manually create the ELS folder in this location.
