HandiTax - How do I confirm my ELS prior year lodgment in HandiTax?

From 31 January 2022, the ATO no longer provides the ELS Validation Report when you submit prior year ELS returns.

NOTE: You must use the latest version of HandiTax to lodge returns from 2000 to 2014. If you are running an older HandiTax version the lodgment will reject with an error: SBR.GEN.FAULT.UNKNOWNSERVICE.


When lodging, the following information message will appear:

To confirm the lodgment was accepted by the ATO, you will need to check the lodgment status within 'Online Services for Agents' after waiting 24 hours. Please do not attempt to re-lodge during this 24-hour window as this will delay processing due to duplicate lodgments attempts.

SBR Lodgment Report

When lodging a prior year ELS return via SBR you will receive the SBR Lodgment Information Report. This report will display transmission information for the ELS Prior Year return without client names or form years.

The ATO can take up to 12 business days to process these lodgments. If the lodgment is still outstanding after 12 business days, please contact the ATO on 13 72 86 Fast Key Code 131, to investigate further.
