HandiTax users may receive this error message when logging into HandiTax.
"HandiTax was unable to load the SBR components. HandiTax will start; however, SBR functionality will not be enabled"
This message displays when the dependencies are not installed on the computer displaying the message.
To use SBR functionality carry out the following instructions:
Close out of HandiTax and Reopen.
The attention message will appear on startup of HandiTax indicating that HandiTax is unable to load the SBR Components.
Click Yes to install the dependencies.
Then select the here option shown in the PDF document that will come up Install the SBR Dependency check installer.
A message will come up with:
The dependencies have been successfully installed, when HandiTax opens without the above message displaying.
Another way to install the dependencies is to close out of all HandiSoft programs.
Navigate to the Hsoft\Apps folder.
Locate the SBR_DependencyCheck.exe file
Run this and install any programs it lists as required.
If the SBR dependency message still occurs, re-install the HandiTax program that is generating the message. The HandiTax programs can be downloaded from the Access HandiSoft Updates page. You can get to the updates page within any HandiSoft module under Help, About, Software Updates.
If the error is only appearing for one year of HandiTax, you can try to rename the HtXXDll.dll file eg. if HandiTax 2022 is affected, rename Ht22Dll.dll to H22Dll.dll-TodaysDate and then reinstall the affected year from the latest full version installer (not incremental update).
