Practice Manager Security - Error User ADMINISTRATOR does not exist

When your Administrator user has the ability to log in to all HandiSoft modules except Practice Manager Security, the Error: 'Unable to authenticate user login' may display.

If you subscribe to HandiSoft Online, please raise a new case with support online and reference the title of this article.

If you use the desktop version, please see the steps below:

  1. Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the HSoft\Data folder and locate the file \HsOpt.YY, where YY is the year.

  2. If the size of the HsOpt.YY file is 1kb, you will need this HsOptMaster.dat file.

  3. Click the linked file, then click Download at the top of the screen.

  4. Copy the file into your HSoft\Data folder.

  5. Rename your current 1kb HsOpt.YY file to HsOpt.YY_OLD.

  6. Rename the downloaded HsOptMaster.dat to the original file you renamed in Step 5, e.g HsOpt.24

7. Open Practice Manager Security and log in as Administrator.
