If the latest version of HandiSoft has been installed, and you receive the following error message(s) when opening HandiTax, this may indicate that the SBR Dependency installation did not complete successfully before first opening the software. If you are still using Windows 7, this operating system (OS) has not been supported by Microsoft since 14 Jan 2020, may be the reason you are experiencing the issue, look at the Recommended Hardware & Software for a list of compatible Windows Operating Systems. Please refer to your IT professional if upgrades are needed.
Rename the SBR folder and reinstall HandiSoft
Navigate to HSoft\Apps.
Rename the SBR folder by adding today's date e.g. SBR_10072024.
Reinstall HandiSoft v1.00 again (ensure all HandiSoft programs are closed and have a recent backup before continuing).
Install the SBR Dependencies when prompted.
Open HandiTax via HSoft\Apps\HT2x.exe or HTSQL2x.exe if using the SQL version to see if the error is still occurring.
