If the client is deceased, enter the date it occurred. This will cause the following:
The Age field will no longer increase.
You will be prompted to set the client type to Non-current.
The client’s tax return will have the deceased date auto completed.
Update Clients Detail
Highlight the Client, and click Edit
In the Clients Detail window, change the Title under the Details section and complete the Deceased field Date.
Click Save
Change status to non-current, click Yes or No, Save.
Example:EF(Executor for)RF(Representative for)TF(Trustee for). Only these titles are allowed for a deceased taxpayer.
5. The return can now be completed and lodged.
Note: If you are completing a tax return for a deceased person, or your spouse died during the year, the ATI amount is automatically adjusted and calculated in the tax return according to the ATO: Adjusted taxable income (ATI) for you and your dependants (Completing a tax return for a deceased person).
