The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) SBR platform applies to all tax returns you lodge using HandiTax 2015 onwards. The ELS platform is used prior to 2015. You can lodge 2014 and prior returns using modified instructions.
To lodge tax returns using HandiTax 2015 to current:
Log in to HandiTax, highlight the tax return(s), then click the Tag button beneath the return.
To check those returns already tagged, press F6 or go to Client, Tag\Untag batches of clients.
Press F5 or go to Lodgment, Lodge Tagged Clients.
Under ATO Lodgment Channel select SBR.
If you are not performing a test lodgment, ensure the SBR Prelodge box is unticked.
If multiple agents exist, select the relevant Tax Agent from the drop-down menu.
Click Create SBR.
Enter the credential password, then click Submit. The lodgment process will proceed and an ATO-generated validation report will display when complete.
