HandiLedger - Invalid record ID at position in HandiLedger

The steps to follow when you are unable to open HandiLedger due to this error are:

  1. Close all users from all HandiSoft programs.

  2. Using File Explorer, navigate to and open the HSoft\Data folder on the server drive.

  3. Locate and rename the Entity.Dat file.

  4. Go to and open the HSoft\Data directory on the backup before the error appeared.

  5. Locate the Entity.Dat file in the backup and copy and paste it to the live HSoft\Data folder on the server drive.

  6. Log in to HandiLedger.
