HandiTax - The system cannot find the path specified in HandiTax

If the error, could not generate payload for Client Update occurs, complete the steps below to resolve.

Important: If you use HandiSoft Online, do not complete these steps. Log in to MyAccess portal to begin a conversation with the Digital Assistant. The Digital Assistant can escalate you to a Support specialist so you can get more information on this request.

  1. Ensure you have a working backup and all users have closed out of all HandiSoft programs.

  2. Use File Explorer to navigate to the HSoft\Apps folder.

  3. Locate and rename the SBR folder to SBROLD.

  4. You will then need to reinstall the HandiSoft Full Version for the current year, selecting only the HandiTax and Practice Manager Contact programs. This will install a fresh SBR folder to your folder.

  5. You can then install the most current HandiTax patch upgrade.

  6. Once the program has been reinstalled and any updates applied, the issue should be resolved.
