You can import a bank transaction file that you have saved on your local computer. The bank statement format must be in a QIF, OFX or XML data file.
Important: You must download the bank statement file from your bank and place it in an accessible location, such as your desktop or cloud directory, before you can import it.
Import a bank transaction file
Log in to HandiLedger and Select your entity.
In the Year information section on the Entities window, ensure the Start date and End date fields correspond with the data in the file you are importing.
Go to the Banking menu, then click Bank Statements Input/Import.
Click Import Bank File.
Locate, select, and open the bank file you want to import.
If the import was successful, a message telling you the number of records that were successfully imported will display. Click OK to close the message box.
If the unsuccessful message, The start date of accounting year [year selected] must be between [start date] and [end date], displays, edit the Start date and End date fields in the Year information section on the Entities window.
Review the imported records and make any necessary adjustments, such as choosing the account code of the relevant bank account. You can also use the search terms feature.
Click Save to save the imported records.
Click Post.
Click Close to exit.
Note: If you do not post your entries before you close the Bank Statement Entry window, your changes will be lost.
