HandiTax - Error Cannot read in HandiTax

You can follow these instructions to resolve Cannot read errors:

  1. Ensure you have a working backup of HandiSoft data.

  2. Ensure all users are logged out of all HandiSoft programs.

  3. Have one user log in to the relevant year HandiTax program.

  4. Go to the Tools menu and click Rebuild.

  5. Tick the following items: Client Details, Return Details and Options.

    Rebuild Database files
  6. Select Rebuild, then click Ok.

  7. Click Ok on the pop-up windows. Once complete, please check if your issue has been resolved.

Tip: If you get this error and you are unable to open the program, please try other modules from the HSoft\Apps folder.
