HandiTax - Error A record is not unique in client database

Tax File Numbres (TFNs) are unique to taxpayers. Within your HandiTax database, you cannot have more than one taxpayer with the same TFN.

To review clients with an allocated TFN:

  1. Log in to HandiTax.

  2. From the Client menu, click Open Clients/Tax Forms.

  3. In the Clients and their Tax Forms window, click Find, select TFN, and type in the TFN.

  4. Click OK, this will show you the client to which the TFN is allocated.

Note: The client database is uniform to all HandiSoft programs, and the error message will also be generated when you enter a new client in any program that has a TFN already allocated to an existing client.
