HandiTax - Update an index file for HandiTax 2009 and prior

A new HandiSoft index file is required:

  • to increase user licenses in the current year or prior years.

  • to update the tax agent name and number (Note: The Business owner is required to notify Access of the change in tax agent details).

  • new installations.

  • activating a new HandiSoft Online user.

You can download index files for HandiTax from 2010 to the current year. HandiTax before 2010 requires the index files to be emailed to the business owner.


HandiTax 2009 and prior

Index files for HandiTax 2009 and prior are sent to the business owner via email.

Note: The location where the index file/s are saved will differ if you are using the HandiSoft Desktop version or the HandiSoft Online version.

In HandiSoft desktop, the index files are to be saved in the HSoft directory:

  1. Start any existing Access HandiSoft 20XX program.

  2. Go to Help, About.

  3. Make a note of the \HSoft folder Location.

  4. Click Close and exit the program.

  5. Open the email that contains the index file attachment(s).

  6. Go to File, Save Attachments or right-click on each file and select Copy.

  7. Save the HsYNNind file(s) to the \HSoft folder you noted in Step 3, where NN represents the year.

  8. You can now install and run your additional prior year HandiTax programs.

  9. You can review your license count by going to Help, About, Licenses.
