Unable to open HandiTax 2024 since installing V1.00

Updated over 3 weeks ago

If HandiSoft 2024 V1.00 has been installed, and you receive the following error message(s) when opening HandiTax 2024, this may indicate that the SBR Dependency installation did not complete successfully before first opening the software. If you are still using Windows 7, this Operating System (OS) has not been supported by Microsoft since 14 Jan 2020, and this will be the reason you are experiencing the issue. See Technical Recommended Hardware & Software for a list of compatible Windows Operating Systems. Please refer to your IT professional if upgrades are needed.

Rename the SBR folder then reinstall HandiTax 2024

  1. Navigate to HSoft\Apps in your installation folder

  2. Rename the \SBR folder by adding today's date e.g \SBR_10072024

  3. Reinstall HandiTax 2024 V1.00 again

  4. Install the SBR Dependencies when prompted

  5. Open HandiTax 2024 via HSoft\Apps\HT24.exe or HTSQL24.exe if using the SQL version.

  6. If the error is not resolved, please continue with the steps below.

You will need to replace the following files, Tax24, HsSBRMain24.dll and HsSBRProxy24.dll, in the HSoft\Apps\SBR\Bin folder.

Here is a link to the replacement files: https://accessau.files.com/f/abec4c048dcc4b86

  2. A Files.zip file will be downloaded to your default download location

  3. Go to this location then double-click on the Files.zip folder

  4. Click on Extract all

  5. Open the HandiTax 2024 files folder, then right-click, copy the three files

6. Paste the files into the HSoft\Apps\SBR\Bin folder. Replace the existing files if prompted

7. Go to HSoft\Apps

8. Double click on HT24.exe (or HT24SQL.exe if using SQL version) to open HandiTax 2024.

After replacing these files in your HSoft\Apps\SBR\Bin folder, we recommend you reset your Keystore credential password via:

  1. Lodgment, Set ATO Credentials menu

  2. Enter Password

  3. Click Ok

  4. Restart HandiTax.
