Rejection errors with the prefix SBR.GEN.FAULT usually indicate there's an issue at the ATO however, you should ensure HandiTax is on the latest version.
The latest versions can be found on our website. You can get to the updates page within HandiTax from the Help menu, About, Software Updates. This window is also where you will see what version you're currently running.
If on the latest version, as this is an ATO backend error, please try the lodgment again later.

You can check on the Tax Agent Portal to see if this return has already been accepted. If the error still occurs, view the validation report for this specific return under Reports, Report Navigator. You will see a Transaction ID number and a Message ID number. These are your unique numbers for this lodgment provided by the ATO.

If you provide the ATO with these numbers and the error information they will be able to advise you as to how to resolve this. We also suggest that you speak with a second tier consultant as they should be able to advise you as to what is causing the error to generate.
