HandiTax allows you to transfer the Rental Property Statement to the tax return of the other part owners.
Transferring the Rental Property Statement to the tax return of the other part owners
Open a completed rental schedule that contains details of other clients who also own the property.
2. Click Transfer.
3. In the Transfer rental schedule to... window, select which client(s) you want to transfer the rental schedule to by leaving a tick in the checkbox.
3. Click OK.
4. HandiTax will open the first selected client's return schedules and will check to see if they already have a rental schedule of the same name (i.e. by comparing the first address line in their rental schedules). If so, you will be given three choices:
To Replace the existing schedule with this schedule.
To Transfer this schedule as a new schedule (i.e. there will be two schedules with the same name).
To Skip the transfer process for this client.
Note: The program repeats the process for the remaining clients who were selected. At the end, you will be advised as to the number of transfers made.
If the rental schedule is not transferred, please check to see whether the client reference is on upper case.
