When you prepare both the client's financial accounts and their tax return, HandiLedger allows you to transfer the financial information to the relevant year in HandiTax.
What to do in HandiLedger
Select the entity and relevant financial year that you require.
Close the client's financial year.
Go to Entity, Prior Years Accounts.
Go to Reports, HandiTax Transfer.
HandiLedger displays the information to be transferred. To print a copy of the report, click Print or click Close to exit.
Next, complete the transfer in HandiTax.
What to do in HandiTax
Go to Client, Open Clients / Tax Forms if your client list is not visible.
Select the required return.
On the Attention window, click Import.
4. Open the tax return and review the data against the report generate in HandiLedger.
5. Check the tax return for accuracy and completeness. Type any extra data, check the return for accuracy and resolve any error messages.
NOTES:
The transfer can only take place where the client has the same reference number in both programs and both programs are in the same location.
A number of items can't be transferred and will require manual entry. In addition, the accuracy of the transfer relies on transactions being entered into the correct account codes in HandiLedger.
Rental information does not transfer into the rental schedule.
To transfer from HandiLedger to any prior year HandiTax programs
In HandiLedger go to Reports, Flexible Report Writer.
Click File, Open.
Highlight the relevant HandiTax Transfer report and click Select.
Go to Run, Report.
5. Highlight the relevant format and click Select.
What if I am unable to perform the transfer?
If you have followed the steps above and you are unable to complete the transfer it may be that you are missing a data file. To check this, open the Flexible Report writer screen (using the steps above) and check if the relevant HtTransferxx (xx denotes the year) is missing.
If the file is missing, please raise a new case with support online and reference the title of this article.
If figures transferring from HandiLedger to HandiTax are incorrect, please double-check the applicable journal entries in HandiLedger to ensure accuracy.
