There are a few reasons you may experience the error, Expecting String: '+' at line: XXX, column XX, in HandiLedger.
For all entity types (except Superfunds)
There is a report in your complete report that is corrupted and needs to be removed.
Log in to HandiLEdger and Select your entity.
Open each report separately from the Financials menu to see which report is causing the error to occur.
When you have found the issue report, go to Reports, Preferred Reports, ‘Selected Entity’ tab.
In the bottom half of the window are the reports. Does the issue report have a Y in the User column?
If so, this means a user has edited this report. You will either need to fix the edited report in Flexible Report Writer or change this report back to the HandiSoft master.
Highlight the issue report and click Edit to choose the default format.
If your entity type is a Superfund
From the top menu bar, select View, Notes to Financial Statements.
Select your Trustee Type.
Enter the Individual/Director Signatories name/s.
Click Save.
