HandiTax - Error The password entered does not match the credential password from within the Keystore file

When lodging or prefilling a tax return the Error: ''Incorrect Password! The password entered does not match the credential 'XXX' password from within the Keystore file.' can occur.

Resetting the credential will resolve this issue. To reset the credential:

  1. Open the affected year of HandiTax.

  2. Go to Lodgment, Set ATO Credentials.

  3. Select the credential from the drop-down menu.

  4. Enter your keystore password then click Ok.

  5. After reading the prompt, click Ok and restart HandiTax.

  6. Attempt the prefill or lodgment again.
