HandiSoft - Trying to execute too many copies error in HandiSoft products

Updated over a month ago

The number of HandiSoft user licenses determines how many users can log in to the program concurrently. If you are trying execute too many copies of any HandiSoft program, it means that a HandiSoft program wasn't closed correctly or you will need to see if a user can exit their session to free up a license. For HandiSoft Desktop users, your server may have locked a user into a HandiLedger session.

  1. Ensure all users have closed HandiSoft programs, you can check this to make sure it's closed by going into task manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL) and checking to see if the application is still running e.g. HCT25.exe.

  2. If all users have the HandiSoft programs closed, go to the Server computer.

  3. Go to Search, type in Computer Management, then open the application.

  4. Go to the Shared Folders, Open Files, and review any users listed as having any HandiSoft program open when they are not physically using the program.

  5. End their HandiSoft program session.

  6. If the error remains, reboot your server. Consult with your IT technician before rebooting your server or if you are having any issues with the steps above.

Tip: You can check in any HandiSoft program, under Help, About, Licenses to review your license numbers. If you require more than the licensed number of users to access any of the HandiSoft programs concurrently, you will need to purchase additional licenses.
