HandiSoft - Incorrect email address generated when sending emails in HandiSoft

To resolve the issue when:

  • Sending an email to a client from within the HandiSoft programs and an old email generates,

  • Or, an old email address is generated on a report.

  • Or, there are duplicate emails on the Client Details window.

  1. Check the Client Details window to ensure that the correct email is set as the Default.

  2. If the default email is correct, complete the following.

  3. Ensure that you have made an adequate backup of your data before completing this.

  4. Close all users out of all HandiSoft programs.

  5. One user can open Practice Manager Contact, HandiSoft or HandiTax, then go to Tools, Verify Client Email Table.

This will update any mismatch of data and resolve the issue.

If you have any cloud products, refer to Mapped or synchronised fields from HandiSoft desktop to Cloud products to check if any other associated cloud products have any mapped or synchronised fields that can affect the data.

It is also recommended to perform a check of a number of email addresses on the report to your HandiSoft database to ensure the correct emails are showing.
