To set the default synchronisation options:
From the Options menu, click Outlook Synchronisation.
Under Synchronise Clients, select the checkbox if you want Microsoft Outlook to be updated when you add or change a client record. Click Setup to choose whether all or only specified client records are synchronised.
Under Synchronise Prospective Clients, select the checkbox if you want Microsoft Outlook to be updated when you add or change a prospective client record. Click Setup to choose whether all or only specified prospective client records are synchronised.
To synchronise all clients or prospective clients in the database, select Synchronise all clients.
To synchronous only those clients or prospective clients that are current, select Synchronise current clients only.
To synchronise specific client or prospective client records only, select Synchronise the following clients only, and complete the list of clients or prospective clients.
4. Click OK to close.
5. Under Synchronise Meetings & Alerts, select the checkbox to update Microsoft Outlook when an appointment is added or changed. Click Setup to select the event types to be synchronised.
Select the checkboxes for the event types to be synchronised.
You can click Default to select the Reminder and Appointment event types.
6. Click Save and Close, OK.

When you synchronise Practice Manager with Microsoft Outlook, you can transfer the following in both directions;
Note: All events transferred from Outlook to Practice Manager will be saved in Practice Manager as Appointments.
To synchronise Outlook with Practice Manager:
From the Tools menu, point to Synchronise Outlook with Practice Manager.
Click Clients, Prospective Clients or Meetings & Alerts, depending on what you want to synchronise.
Note: Depending on how Outlook has been set up on your computer, you may get a warning message. Select the Allow access for checkbox, and then set the time to 1 minute. This should be long enough to complete the synchronisation. If Practice Manager displays an error message, you might have to set the time to be longer.
3. Click Yes.
4. Click Details to display a log of the synchronisation, then click Close.
To import Microsoft Outlook details into Practice Manager:
Go to Tools, Import Microsoft Outlook details into Practice Manager
Then choose from the sub-menu from the following:
Clients
Prospective Clients
Meetings & Alerts
