Access Handisoft

As of 31 January 2026, the ATO no longer supports the previous connection method. If you have not migrated to Access ATO Gateway, your lodgments and prefills will fail.

Steps required to restore service:

- Update to the latest version of HandiTax.
- Configure Access ATO Gateway.

Update HandiTax 2025 to the <a href="https://help-handisoft.theaccessgroup.com/en/articles/12135242-handisoft-download-and-install-the-latest-handisoft-updates">latest version</a>.

1. Update HandiTax 2025 to the <a href="https://help-handisoft.theaccessgroup.com/en/articles/12135242-handisoft-download-and-install-the-latest-handisoft-updates">latest version</a>.

Go to Options, Set ATO Credentials.

Enter your keystore password, and click OK.

Click OK again, and then close HandiTax.

You are now required to <a href="https://help-handisoft.theaccessgroup.com/en/articles/12176992-handitax-notify-the-ato-of-the-software-id-in-handitax">register the Software ID</a> with the ATO.

Log back in to HandiTax and attempt a lodgment or prefill. 

1. Log in to HandiTax.
2. Go to Options, Set ATO Credentials.
3. Enter your keystore password, and click OK.
4. Click OK again, and then close HandiTax.
5. You are now required to <a href="https://help-handisoft.theaccessgroup.com/en/articles/12176992-handitax-notify-the-ato-of-the-software-id-in-handitax">register the Software ID</a> with the ATO.
6. Log back in to HandiTax and attempt a lodgment or prefill.

Note: After the changes have been made, note all other users need to log out and then log back in to HandiTax for the changes to take effect.
