HandiTax - The password entered does not match the credential password from within the Keystore file in HandiTax

When lodging or prefilling a tax return the Error: ''Incorrect Password! The password entered does not match the credential 'XXX' password from within the Keystore file.' can occur.

Reset the credentials

  1. If using HandiSoft Online, ensure the keystore file is stored in the App (Z:) drive.

  2. If using the desktop version, open the affected year of HandiTax.

  3. Go to Lodgment, Set ATO Credentials.

  4. Select the credential from the drop-down menu.

  5. Enter your keystore password, then click Ok.

  6. After reading the prompt, click Ok and restart HandiTax.

  7. Attempt the prefill or lodgment again.
