If your client's tax estimate shows a negative Medicare Levy Surcharge in HandiTax, it will be as a result of the tax return having the incorrect Year Start and Year End Dates for the return.
Resolve the negative Medicare Levy Surcharge
Log in to HandiTax.
Highlight the Client and the tax return, click Tax Forms and Edit.
In the Client's Tax Form Details window, under the Dates section, check that the Year Start and Year End Date fields are the correct full financial year.
Make the necessary adjustments, then click Save.
Click Select and double-click the estimate to review the medicare levy surcharge.
