HandiTax - How do I customise reports using Report Builder?

On occasion, you may wish to identify and report on certain clients. The HandiTax report builder function enables users to run reports to their specifications.

To customise reports using the HandiTax Report Builder:

  1. Go to Reports, Report Builder.

  2. On the Report Builder window, set your preferences, under the three report builder tabs and click Run Report.

  • Client Selections: allows you to order the report and specify the clients to be included in the report

  • Return Selections: allows you to specify the tax form types to be included in the report.

  • Layout & Sorting: allows you to specify additional columns of information to be displayed in the report. You can also select fields by which the report is to be sorted.

  1. When you close the Report Preview window, if you selected the Prompt to Tag Clients check box, HandiTax will ask if you want to tag the clients. If you click Yes, existing tags will be removed, and the clients in the report will be tagged.


Tagging clients to use with other functionality
This option allows you to tag clients to run as part of the Tagged filter with other reports you may have, or even a running a Mail Merge.

The Prompt to Tag Clients option needs to be selected to give you the ability to use matching conditions with other functions. Once the clients have been tagged, your Report or Mail Merge can be run using the filter expression for tagged clients.

Saving your Report
On the Report Builder window, click Save to save the report profile to re-use later.

Loading a previously saved report
On the Report Builder window, click Load to load a previously saved report profile.

Filter
If you want to add further filtering to the report, click the ellipsis at the Filter/Expression field, then select the required filter expression from the Client Expressions window.
