In HandiTax, a tax return is ready for lodgment when it contains no SBR validation errors.
The user performing the lodgment must open the return and click Errors.
Resolve any errors before attempting to lodge again.
If the return appears error free but the lodgment error persists:
In HandiTax, highlight the tagged client, then click Edit.
In the Client Details window, look for an invalid character, e.g. a comma, in the name, phone or address fields.
Remove the character then click Save.
Go to Options, Front Cover defaults.
Check for invalid characters in the address fields and update if required.
Click Change, then check for invalid characters in the Agent Contact Options window e.g. name, phone and position held fields.
Click OK, then click OK again.
Select the tax return, then if applicable, go to schedules containing addresses, e.g. Rental Schedule and Business Worksheet.
Remove invalid characters visible, then Save and Close.
Attempt your lodgment again.
