When trying to select a client, the message Range check error appears and only happens in HandiTax, the user is able to access client in another HandiSoft program.
This indicates that the Prefill path is pointing to the wrong location in the HandiTax prior year program.
Log in to the HandiTax year where the error occurs.
Navigate to Options menu, then click Tax Form Options.
Under the Prefill Report, check the path location. This should be pointing to the HSoft\Doc\Portal.
Once the path is pointing to the correct location, select the client in that HandiTax year.
If using HandiSoft Online (on Access Evo), the prefill path in HandiTax 20YY should be set to \\cloud-au\auprmydesk\HSO_App\XXX111\Apps\Doc\Portal, where XXX111 represents the HandiSoft reference code.
