When using HandiSoft software, users may encounter configuration errors such as the "Could not find a part of the path" error. This guide provides step-by-step instructions to resolve this issue effectively.
Could not find a part of the path
Could not find a part of the path error, '<Drive:>\Logs\HsSBRMessageLogs.Log'.
All users exit all HandiSoft applications.
Navigate to File Explorer.
Go to the HSoft/Apps folder, search the Apps folder for temp.config. If you find a file named temp.config, delete this file.
If you are using the ODB version, in the HSoft/Apps folder, locate the file called HT1*exe.config where * denotes the year, e.g., Ht20.exe.config. Rename this file by appending a date tag (e.g., Ht20.exe.config to Ht20.exe.config[DATE_TAG]).
If you are using the SQL version, the file will be called HT1*SQL.exe.config where * denotes the year, e.g., Ht20SQL.exe.config. Rename this file by appending a date tag (e.g., Ht20SQL.exe.config to Ht20SQL.exe.config[DATE_TAG]).
Launch the applicable HandiTax year.
Restart HandiTax and lodge, prefill or test lodge to see if the error is resolved.
Repeat these steps if you experience the issue in other HandiTax years.
