HandiTax - Error CMN.ATO.AUTH.001 the agent number used with your ABN or credential is not related in HandiTax

If you have recently updated your Tax Agent Name or Number, and receive the following error when lodging: The agent number used with your ABN or credential is not related.

In HandiTax

  1. Log in to HandiTax and check that your correct Tax Agent Name/Number is located in HandiTax under Options, Tax Form options.

  2. If you have recently updated your Tax Agent details with the Access Group and it is not showing correctly, you may need to Update your index file to reflect the new Tax Agent details.

  3. If it is correct, you will need to create a new Machine credential to match your Tax Agent details.

  4. If you are using a Cloud-hosted software provider or Sending Service Provider (SSP), check the combination of agent number and ABN.

  5. Attempt to correct in the ATO's Access Manager. If you still need help, phone their Technical Help Desk on 1300 287 539.
