HandiLedger - View Opening Balances or Comparative data for Cash Flow reports in HandiLedger

Updated over 2 weeks ago

When Cash Flow Reports are generated, the movement in the relevant accounts is calculated. Access HandiLedger requires the entity to have accounts with an opening balance in order to process these types of reports. Opening balance information for the year in which the Statement of Cash Flow report is prepared is therefore required.

You can enter opening balances in two ways.

  1. Log in to HandiLedger and Select your entity.

  2. Go to View, Opening Balances or Comparative Entries.

  3. When entering Comparative Entries, the information screen states 'If you require a Cash Flow Statement for this entity showing the prior year, then you must enter prior year opening balance entries.

Tip: Opening entries can be made from a trial balance as at either July 1 of the prior year or June 30 of the year before that, after closing.
