When lodging a form in HandiRegister, a Protocol Violation error can occur.
This is often a result when ASIC servers operate close to full capacity, causing Protocol Violation errors E02 and D04. Error D02 generally occurs due to delays in the lodgment system. When a lodgment attempt is made, and you don’t get a response, you attempt to lodge again without knowing that your first connection attempt was successful. The advice ASIC gives during these times is to be patient and keep trying. Refer to Edge Error D02 for more information.
To resolve the error, complete the following:
Log in to HandiRegister, then go Options, EDGE setup
Change the DTOM from EDGEPRIM to EDGESECD or back to EDGEPRIM if it is already on EDGESECD.
Click Apply and OK.
Attempt to lodge again.
If you are still unable to connect, your ASIC password likely needs updating.
Important: You can use the EDGESECD for lodgments until ASIC has resolved the issue. Retrieve your validation report and responses, then switch your DTOM back to EDGEPRIM, as this is the Primary mailbox.
