Practice Manager Contact - Activate Document Hub/Client Portal for your client in Practice Manager Contact

Updated over a month ago

When you add a client to the Document Hub, you can either create a new Group Portal login for that client’s area or you can select an existing Group Portal login that can enable access to other client areas.

  • For individual clients, you can create a single portal user.

  • For non-individual clients, you can create multiple portal users.

Enable Client Portal for your client

  1. Open Practice Manager Contact or HandiSoft.

  2. On the main client window, highlight your client and click Edit.

  3. Ensure a valid email address exists.

  4. In the Document Hub field, click the Ellipsis to open the Document Hub Configuration window.

  5. For an individual client, the Surname and First Name columns are automatically completed. For a non-individual client, you must enter the Surname and First Name for each portal user required.

  6. Leave the User Name column blank for the system to automatically generate a portal login, or click the Ellipsis to select an existing Group Portal login, which may also allow the portal user to access multiple client areas.

  7. In the Email Address field, select the email address to be used.

  8. If you have selected an existing Group Portal login in the User Name column, you can select a new email address from the drop-down button.

  9. Click Save.

  10. Click Yes to create a Document Hub user for your client.

Activate Client Portal

  1. Your client will receive an email with an activation link. When your client clicks the activation link, the Document Hub will require a password to log in. If your client does not receive the activation email, get them to check their junk folder.

  2. Your client can log in to the Document Hub by clicking on the link in the email to open the Login page.

  3. Once your client has activated the login, within your client detail window, the Document Hub field displays as Active for an individual client, and as Enabled for a non-individual client.

Tip: Set the login page as a favourite website.
