HandiTax - How do I create or delete a custom return status?

HandiTax allows you to create custom return statuses.

Create a Custom Return Status

  1. From the Options menu, click Return Status

  2. In the Return Status window, click Add

  3. Enter the return status name

  4. Click Ok

  5. In the Return status window it will appear at the bottom of the list.

  6. Click Move Up to change the order.

Notes:

  • To rename a custom return status, highlight the return status and click Rename.

  • To change the order of your custom status, highlight the status and click Move Up or Move Down.

Delete a Custom Return status

  1. From the Options menu, click Return Status

  2. In the Return Status window, tick the status you want to delete

  3. Click Delete selected

  4. Click Yes

  • If the Return status has been assigned to a clients tax return you will receive an Attention message indicating how many returns have this custom status. To avoid mistakes we recommend having a back up before batch changes/deletions.

  • Click Yes, enter the return status name to reassign the batch to another status, click Ok

Tip: To delete any unused custom status, click Select unused and then click Deleted selected.
