HandiTax - Payable or Refundable amount at Label S in the calculation statement is incorrect in HandiTax

Updated over 2 months ago

In HandiTax, for a Company or Self Managed Superfund tax form, the AMOUNT DUE OR REFUNDABLE in the Calculation statement at label S has an auto calculation field and will appear to populate a positive value, irrespective of whether it is a positive or a negative value. This is because the ATO does not allow a negative character in the field.

Example of positive amount at Label S

However, when previewing or printing the form, the item will mention a payable or refundable amount.

Print Preview showing Label S as refundable or payable

When the return is lodged, the value at label S will correctly be transmitted as either a negative or positive amount. To view the transmitted figure to the ATO with the SBR Lodgment:

  1. Log in to HandiTax.

  2. Select the client and open the tax return.

  3. Double-click on the Main form C and click Errors.

  4. When there are no errors, click Close to exit the return.

  5. Go to Reports, Report Navigator.

  6. Select the SBR Payload Files tab.

  7. Scroll to item 31 to see the value that would transmit to the ATO.

  8. Close the window.
