Calculation statement label S displaying incorrectly

Updated over a month ago

The Calculation Statement in a Company or Self Managed Superfund tax form, the AMOUNT DUE OR REFUNDABLE label (Label S) has an auto calculation field and populates with a positive dollar figure, irrespective of it being a positive or a negative value. This is because the ATO do not allow a minus character in this field.

For example: Within the main form it will show a positive value.

However, when previewing/printing the form, the item will say if it's a payable or refundable amount.

When the return is lodged, the value at label S will correctly be transmitted as either a negative or positive amount.

To view the transmitted figure to the ATO with the SBR Lodgement:

  1. Open the Main form and click Errors.

  2. When the Error Navigator screen opens or the notification that there are no errors appears, click Close and close out of the return.

  3. Go to Reports, Report Navigator.

  4. Select the SBR Payload Files tab.

  5. Scroll down to item 31 to see the amount being transmitted to the ATO.
