HandiSoft is unable to provide support on matters related to the flexible report writer due to the complexity of reports that you can write, and the ability of people to understand and use structured programming language.
This document needs to be read in conjunction with the Flexible Report Writer user guide.
The reports provided in HandiLedger cannot be edited. Should you wish to edit a report, you need to first save the report under a new name, e.g. compilation one, and then edit the new report.
In this example, we will move the firm's name and address to the left-hand side in the compilation report.
To edit a report
Log in to HandiLedger.
Go to Reports and then click Flexible Report Writer.
Go to the File menu and click Open.
Highlight the report you wish to modify, e.g. the compilation report, and click Select.
Go to File and click Save As.
On the Save Report As window, rename the report e.g. "Compilation one" and click Save.
Locate the paragraph that you wish to edit and make the change to. In the compilation report example replace the following lines, once complete, go to File and click Save and Close.
AddTabText (FirmAddress1, 80, FirmName, 70)
AddTabText (FirmAddress2, 80, FirmPartner, 70)
With these lines:
AddTabText (FirmName, 70)
AddTabText (FirmPartner, 70)
AddTabText (FirmAddress1, 80)
AddTabText (FirmAddress2, 80)
Set up a new user master set of reports that includes your new report
From the Reports menu, click Preferred Reports.
Under the HandiSoft Masters tab, highlight the report that you want to use and click Master.
On the Make User Preferred Report window, give your report set up a name and click OK.
On the Master Preferred Reports window, click on the User Masters tab.
Highlight your new User Master Report setup, and click New.
On the Preferred Report Add/Edit window, complete the report menu name and click Select Report to select the report you have just created, e.g. Compilation one, and click OK. You also need to select a format to run the report
To place the report into the complete report, on the Master Preferred Reports window, click Order.
On the Order and contents of a complete Report window, the arrow buttons can be used to move the report into the complete report and reorder it.
Attaching the user master report to the selected entity
From the Reports menu, click Preferred Reports.
Under the User Masters tab, highlight the report that you want to use and click Copy.
On the Copy Master to Selected Entity window click OK.
