In HandiLedger all depreciable assets must be assigned to depreciation schedules, even if the asset belongs to an asset pool.

Create a depreciation schedule
Log in to HandiLedger and select your entity.
From the View menu, click Depreciation Schedule. The "Depreciation Schedules" window will open.
Click Schedule and then New.
Complete the schedule details, Click Save.
Division: If the selected entity has divisions, select the one that is applicable.
Name: Type the name for the depreciation schedule.
Depreciation expense account: If you want HandiLedger to automatically create journal entries to record depreciation expense, then click or press F2 to select the correct expense account code.
Accumulated depreciation account: If you want HandiLedger to automatically create journal entries to record depreciation expense, then click or press F2 to select the correct accumulated depreciation account code.
Depreciation journal transaction number: HandiLedger will enter the transaction number of the automatic journal entry that was created to record the depreciation expense for the current accounting year.
Depreciation Custom Text: Type a description that will appear on transactions generated from the depreciation schedule.
Tip: If you cannot access the Depreciation expense account and Accumulated depreciation account fields, ensure that the Auto journal depreciation check box has been selected on the Entity details window under View, Entity Details, Edit.
