The Fringe Benefits tax return year runs from 1 April to 31 March, while the income tax year for most entities runs from 1 July to 30 June. The FBT form is released in March each year via a program update.
Create a Fringe Benefits tax return
Log in to HandiTax, then highlight the required client.
Click the Tax Forms button, then click New.
Select FBT from the Tax form drop-down arrow.
Click Save. The Dates will automatically adjust to the correct FBT year dates.
Note: If you receive the error, Form type (FBT) NOT yet available:
Confirm you're working in the correct HandiTax year, as the FBT year runs from 1 April to 31 March.
Ensure HandiTax is up to date by navigating to Help, About, check your version against those on the Software Updates website.
