The following steps are for creating HandiSoft shortcuts through Access Evo (previously called Access Workspace).
Location of application files
Click on File Explorer (yellow folder on the bottom toolbar).
Select App (Z:), Apps, and click on the Type column.
If you use SQL applications, it will form part of the application name, e.g. Hct.2xSql.exe (where x is the current year).
Note: HandiTax is the only program that has prior years listed; all other HandiSoft programs will only be the current year.

Create shortcuts
To create a shortcut for Practice Manager Contact / HandiSoft:
Locate your file from the steps above.
Select the Hct2xSql.exe or Hct2x.exe, right-click, and select Create shortcut.
Click, drag, and drop the shortcut to the desktop.
Once the shortcut icon is on the desktop, you can click on the shortcut icon to rename it.
Customise the Sign in process
You can customise the sign-in process when selecting the icon to go directly in with the user’s login details.
Right-click on the Application icon, select Properties.
At the target field, enter a space after the .exe and then your username, then click Apply, OK.
Log in to Practice Manager Contact \ HandiSoft.
Right-click on the program icon in the taskbar, then choose Pin to taskbar.
Note: If the HandiSoft program is closed before pinning the icon to the taskbar, the process needs to be repeated.
Local disk shortcut
Click on File Explorer (yellow folder on the bottom toolbar).
Select Local Disk, Users, User-name to list the folder structure. Shortcuts to any local disk, folder, or file can be placed on your Desktop in HandiSoft Online.
Select the folder you require, right-click, Create shortcut.
The shortcut folder(s) will be created on the desktop for easy access.
Update shortcut properties
When the shortcut has been created, you will need to edit the target path.
Select the shortcut icon on the desktop, right-click, then select Properties.
Select the Shortcut tab, within the Target path, remove the $ symbol.
Select Apply, OK.
Note: Quick access links are not available within the HandiSoft Online environment.
