Document Manager - Add a new folder to all clients in Document Manager

Important:

  • All users must exit all HandiSoft programs before proceeding.

  • Ensure you have a recent working backup of the HSoft\Doc\DocBase folder.

  • You will need to be an Administrator user.

  • Given the unknown processing time involved, it may be more efficient to run it on the server.

Add a folder to client's drawers

Document Manager allows you to view your folder structure for all clients and firms, add folders, and change the default folder.

  1. Log in to any HandiSoft program, then press F10 to open Document Manager.

  2. Go to Tools, Create Client Folder.

  3. Highlight the cabinet you want to create a new folder under, e.g. Clients, then click New.

  4. Type in the new folder name, then click OK.

  5. Click Ok again, then Document Manager will create a folder in every client drawer.

Note: The Create Client folder option does not duplicate a folder if a folder already exists with the exact name.

Set a Default folder

  1. Log in to any HandiSoft program, then press F10 to open Document Manager.

  2. Go to Tools, Create Client Folder.

  3. Highlight the folder you would like to set as a default folder, then click Set as Default Folder.

  4. The selected folder will now appear with the word, (Default), click Ok.

  5. To apply the changes, click Yes.

Duplicate a folder with a set of sub-folders

  1. Log in to any HandiSoft program, then press F10 to open Document Manager.

  2. Go to Tools, Create Client Folder.

  3. Highlight the drawer that contains the set of subfolders you want to duplicate and click Duplicate.

  4. Complete the folder details as required.

  5. Click OK, and then Ok again to create the new folder for each client with its set of subfolders.
