To create a report showing client groups, follow the steps below.
Log in to Practice Manager Contact.
Go to the Reports menu, then Edit Reports.
Highlight the report Clients List Abbreviated and click Copy.
Name the report then click OK.
With the new report highlighted, click Design.
In the HeaderBand, double-click on the cell that says Clients List Abbreviated, change the cell value to a name that matches the report, e.g. "Group Report".
In the HeaderBand again, right-click on the cell that says TFN and click delete.
Select the Name cell and click and drag the edge of the cell to make the box smaller, to roughly half the size.
Right-click on the Reference cell and click copy, right-click again on a blank space, press and click Paste, and drag the new cell next to the Name cell. Double-click on the new cell and change the cell value to Group Ref. Repeat the same steps as before to create another new cell, but this time call it Group Name. It should look something like the screenshot below:
In the MasterBand (Parent:ReportBand) right click the TfnStr@Clients cell and press Delete.
Select the NameStr@Clients cell and drag it to the same width as the Name cell above.
In the Database Toolbar on the right, in the bands list, click on Clients, in the Cells list below, scroll through and click on GroupRef and drag it next to NameStr@Clients. Change the width to match "Group Ref" above. Follow the same steps again, but this time add the cell GroupName and click and drag it next to GroupRef@Clients, the cell width should match the "Group Name" cell above. Your report should now look similar to the screenshot below:
At the top left of the Report Designer window, go to the Report menu and click Execute.
Add a filter expression by clicking on the ellipsis button on the right. Select All Clients if you wish to run the report for all clients. This will include all clients not in a group. If you wish to run this report for clients only in a group, then select Is in a Client Group. This will run the report once you have selected an option.
If you're happy with the layout, close the preview, then go to Report, Save.
Close out of the Report Designer.
The report is available to run from Reports, Edit Reports, Run.
Note: If you would like to change the report to landscape, right-click anywhere within the Report Designer window in a blank space and click Edit. Click the Page Setup drop-down box and change it to Wide. You will have to adjust the cell widths and layout to your liking again.
