Follow these steps to install and configure the HandiSoft Data Loader using Data Engine.
Log in and open Data Engine
Click Access, then click Products.
Select Data Engine. A new tab will open.
Install Data Loader
Follow these steps to download and install Data Loader.
Open the 3-line menu, then select Data Loaders.
Choose the installer type:
Use 32-bit if you use ODB and your HandiSoft ODBC driver is 32-bit.
Use 64-bit if your operating system is 64-bit and you use SQL Server.
Download the file, extract it, and run the installer.
Search for ClicData DataLoader in your window and open it.
Set up security token
Follow these steps to connect Data Loader to Data Engine.
In Data Engine, click the cog icon for your product, HandiSoft ODB or HandiSoft SQL.
Go to Properties, General and copy the security token.
Open ClicData DataLoader.
Click the cog icon, paste the token and click Save.
Configure registry and service
Follow these steps to confirm the connection.
Open Registry Editor and navigate to
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\ClicData\DataLoaderService.Confirm the value is https://ws.dataengine.access-workspace.com.au/.
Open ClicData DataLoader and confirm the status shows as connected.
Open Windows Services and confirm DataLoaderService is running.
Configure connections
Follow these steps to set up your HandiSoft connection.
In Data Engine, open the 3-line menu, then select Connections.
Expand Team. If empty, check on Shared folder.
Select your connection:
A - aba - Connection - ODB – HandiSoft.
B - aba - Connection - SQL – HandiSoft.
Click the cog icon.
Complete setup based on your type:
ODB:
Go to Properties, DSN.
Enter your HandiSoft username and password.
Go to Test and Start Test to check the connection.
SQL:
Go to Properties, Authentication and enter database credentials, then click Save.
Go to Properties, Server and enter the server and database name, then click Save.
Go to Test and Start Test to check the connection.
Set up schedules
Follow these steps to enable data sync.
In Data Engine, open the 3-line menu and select Schedules.
Expand Team. If empty, check the Shared folder.
Locate the relevant schedule:
A1a - Sched – HS – ODB.
A1a - Sched – HS – SQL.
Open each schedule using the cog icon.
Set the run frequency.
Use the dropdown arrow next to the cog icon to enable or run the schedule.
Wait until the next day to confirm data has synced.
