Time+Billing - How the WIP reports work in Time+Billing

Updated over a month ago

Time+Billing reports that reflect WIP figures are either WIP Performed For or WIP Invoiced To types of reports.

Time+Billing gives you the ability to perform WIP for a particular client, and in certain cases, invoice a different client for the WIP.

In the Jobs For window, for the client that you perform the work for, enter the client reference code of the client who is going to be invoiced for the WIP charged to this Job. The client who receives the invoice may be someone other than the person for whom the WIP was performed.

Jobs for window

Example: Mr Jimmy Jones and The Company Pty Ltd are both clients of ABC Accounting. Individual jobs have been established: one for Mr Jones and the other for The Company Pty Ltd. ABC Accounting wants only one invoice to be sent to The Company Pty Ltd. To achieve this, the job for Mr Jones is established with the Client To field set to the reference code for The Company Pty Ltd.

An example of a Performed For Report is a Client Balance Report, By Clients.

Performed for reports will list all clients with WIP irrespective of the Invoiced to client.

An example of Invoiced To Report is a Client Balance Report, By Invoiced To Clients.

Client balance report

Invoiced to reports will only list clients that are annotated as the Client To both for themselves and for other clients, and their WIP will reflect both their own and any client that has them as the Client To client.
