The ATO no longer issues ATO Communication details to lodge prior year ELS tax returns. To lodge 2014 and prior years in HandiTax you will need to enter dummy details using the following steps:
Log in to the most current year HandiTax.
Go to Options, ELS Communication Options.
Click Edit.
Enter ELS Approval number, (example: 12345).
Select an Office of Lodgment from the dropdown list.
Enter Code 1, (example: V12345).
Enter Code 2, (example: z6hvqycmsr).
Click the ellipsis next to New ELS Password to generate a password.
Under ELS Password, click the Fix mistake if pwd has expired radial button.
Enter ELS User Id (example: A12345)
Choose a Primary CEG by clicking on one of the radial buttons.
Click Save and then Ok.
Note: The below screen print is an example of the above dummy details once entered in ATO Communication options.
Note: For clients using the SQL version, please also check the ELS Folder path is pointing to the correct ELS folder, the ELS folder is found within the HSoft folder by default.
