This section explains how HandiTax handles losses and trust distribution codes in Item 13 of an individual tax return.
Item 13 – Net Non-Primary Production Amount (Individual Return):
If the total from Item 13 or the Manage Fund schedule results in a loss, HandiTax will automatically display L (Loss) next to the Net non-primary production amount. You cannot manually enter L into this field.
Label U – Trust Distribution Code:
The code box beside Label U refers to the Trust distribution action code, which you can access via the Manage Fund schedule and press F1 for the code selection.
Removing Prefilled Data:
If an amount is prefilled in Label U and needs to be removed, check the full Item 13 section, the Manage Fund schedule, or related prefilled entries.
