HandiTax - How do I change the status of my tax return to Non-resident and vice-versa?

If you are completing a tax return for a non-resident the appropriate box needs to be set in the Client's Tax Form Details window in HandiTax.

  1. Open HandiTax, then go to Client, Open Clients/ Tax Forms F3.

  2. Highlight the client and the applicable tax return.

  3. Click the Tax Forms tab, then click Edit.

  4. On the Client's Tax Form Details window under Tax, untick the Resident field.

5. Click Save.

6. Click Select to enter the return, or click Close to exit.

Note: If you want to revert the client to a resident, simply re-tick the Resident box.
